Brush Park Castle in the fog

We were running some errands on a foggy morning and when cutting across Brush Park I just had to stop and take this picture. This building is wide open, a total wreck inside, and likely cannot be saved. That's one hell of a facade though.

. . .although you wouldn't know it from any of the houses. Still, somebody has to put the garbage out to feed the gang of feral cats.

A few hours in Bloomington. . .

I got up early on Tuesday and drove down to Bloomington, Illinois for the opening of a solo exhibition of my pictures and to give a talk about them. Central Illinois is as flat as they say, but it has its own kind of beauty. 


Thanks to everyone who came to the beautiful campus of Illinois Wesleyan University, from the students and locals to those who drove from as far Peoria, St. Louis, and Chicago. And thanks to Carmen Lozar for putting the show together and the students who hung the photos. I took a few pictures of the gallery before the opening. It was such an honor to see all these pictures in such a big space:
